SIKO rotary encoders, geared potentiometers and bearingless rotary encoders

Rotary encoders: precise measurement technology with defined values

SIKO's comprehensive product portfolio includes a variety of types, ranging from cost-effective incremental encoders in miniature design with simple mechanical features to complex, high-resolution products such as absolute encoders in plastic or robust die-cast aluminum housings.

Rotary encoders and bearingless rotary encoders are the solution for a wide range of measuring tasks

In mechanical and plant engineering, rotary encoders and bearingless rotary encoders from SIKO are indispensable for measuring lengths, angles or speed. With a variety of designs and application-oriented specifications, rotary encoders and bearingless rotary encoders provide the basis for robust measuring processes for a wide range of mechanical engineering solutions. Mounted on an axis or spindle, the encoders record measured values in the form of position or speed. The measuring principle can be optical, magnetic or based on an electrical resistance (potentiometer). The information obtained in this way is available for upstream control systems or for direct display on measurement displays.

If a certain position is to be detected absolutely and should be available again after switching the system on/off, absolute rotary encoders are essential. Incremental encoders could be the right choice for all other applications.

Measured value acquisition via geared potentiometers

Geared potentiometers are the right choice for particularly rough applications where safe signals such as 4...20 mA or 0...10 V are required or where a potentiometer is to be used as the basic system for recording measured values.
