The invention of the mechanical digital position indicator

SIKO is the inventor of the SIKO counter and world market leader in the field of spindle position indicators and handwheels with position indicators. SIKO has consistently developed the versatile mechanical position indicators and handwheels into today's generations of programmable electronic spindle indicators, which also enable bus-controlled use.

Mechanical digital position indicators are cost-effective and have been tried and tested for decades

With its mechanical digital indicators, or DA for short, SIKO provides an original and mature product line. The highly adaptable, functional concept is world-renowned and its combination of variable gear ratios and modularly configurable counters is unique. The position indicators of the DA series represent a further development of analog handwheel technology. However, their "vernier", a kind of precision gauge for handwheel indicators, can only display the values of one spindle revolution at a time. But what if several revolutions are to be documented?

This requires a technology that is functional and robust as such and has two special features:

  • A multi-digit display incl. decimal point and precision reader for optimum reading accuracy
  • A gearbox that is customized to the customer's requirements and "translates" the applied axie rotations into a quickly comprehensible display dimension.

Mechanical digital position indicators make format adjustment child's play

With the original counters from SIKO, position values can be reliably controlled directly on the axis or spindle. Simply attach to the shaft, lock in place and you're done; thanks to sophisticated technology, the small "indicators in orange" are used tirelessly millions of times around the world as spindle position indicators.

Position indicators from SIKO are used across all industries and in all production environments, because guide elements, material stops or tools can be positioned or aligned precisely and reliably on almost all machines or systems. SIKO position indicators are often seen in packaging technology or on woodworking machines.

Mechanical digital position indicators are versatile

Digital position indicators are ideal for checking the roller adjustment of sheet metal bending machines. When things get rough, as with roller burnishing machines, the solid cast versions of the SIKO position indicators in particular hold their own against the strong mechanical influences and consequently enable precise production.. Their use in woodworking is particularly versatile. Several work steps are often carried out on one system there; panels are cut, milled, edged and polished. Whether in the metal, plastics or woodworking industries: SIKO counters are ideal setting aids.
